Privacy Settings on Lukoon: Control Who Sees Your Content

Sharing is the heart of social media, but over-sharing can be a risk. On Lukoon, you have granular control over exactly who sees your content, who can contact you, and whether you appear "Online" to others. Let's configure your account for maximum peace of mind.

Default Settings Alert: As seen in the screenshots, many settings default to "Everyone". We recommend reviewing these immediately after signing up.

How to Access Privacy Controls

Follow this path to reach the configuration panel shown in the image above.

  • Open Settings

    Log in to your dashboard. Look at the left sidebar menu and click on the Settings link.

  • Select the Privacy Tab

    In the middle settings menu, locate and click on Privacy. This will open the main control panel with toggles and dropdown lists.

  • Customize Your Visibility

    Go through each option (Chat status, Profile info, Wall posts) and select the audience that suits you best (Everyone, Followers, or Only Me).

  • Save Changes

    Always scroll to the bottom right (if available) or ensure your changes are applied before leaving the page.

Understanding the Options

Based on the settings panel, here is what each feature does:

1. Activity Toggles (Top Section)

  • Chat Active Status: If you turn this OFF (grey toggle), you will appear offline. This is great if you want to browse without people messaging you instantly.
  • Hide from followings suggestions list: Enable this if you do not want Lukoon to recommend your profile to strangers or friends of friends.

2. Interaction Controls (Dropdowns)

You can choose between Everyone, Followers, or Only Me for these actions:

  • Who can message you: Restrict this to "Followers" to avoid spam from strangers.
  • Who can post on your wall: As seen in the screenshot, setting this to "Followers" prevents random people from cluttering your profile page.
  • Who can see your birthdate: We highly recommend setting this to "Only Me" or "Followers" for security reasons.
Pro Tip: Setting "Who can see your relationship" and "Who can see your gender" to Everyone is usually fine, as it helps people identify you correctly.
